Beverley Hetherington

Hello and welcome to nutri5plus, the website that gives you more than 5 a day! I am a fully insured Naturopathic Nutrition Therapist and Yoga Teacher, with an increasing nutrition clinic. I currently teach yoga at several yoga studios, including Ekah in Brighton, Be-Yoga in Haywards Heath, Essence in Hove and the Hanover Centre.

I studied Nutrition for three years at the College of Naturopathic Medicine, graduating and founding nutri5plus in October 2012.

During the year that followed, I noticed that I was talking more and more with my clients about breath – how easily it is affected by our day-to-day activities, and the knock-on effect this has on our bodies.

This led me to train as a yoga teacher, so I could offer yoga as the perfect partner to nutrition. I completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Qualification with Yogahaven in Morocco in 2012, and began teaching straight away.

Find my yoga class timetable on the Services page of this website, and on my events page on Facebook.

I currently live in Brighton with my husband, our boxer dog Flo, and latest canine addition Otis.

My love of reading about and working with food has spanned two decades, and continues to develop. I juggle juicing, seasonal sprouting, and I am a fan of food fermentation.

Having grown up with food that was prepared from scratch by my mother, who learnt from her father who was a butcher, I watched, learnt and appreciated how she created her dishes. This knowledge has naturally led me to be a self-taught cook who loves to experiment!

To me, being a nutritionist means to constantly change how we eat, what we eat and where we eat, enjoying the amazing gifts of what the land has to offer our taste buds.

My yoga practice began when I was young and has become a daily part of my life. I believe yoga is for everybody and have witnessed personal change and benefits in others who have made time for it in their life. The more time you give it, the more space is created, both internally and externally.

I hope to use this website to share with you what I’m currently doing, how I’m doing it and whether I think it works or not. I aim to make the site both interesting and a place to visit for up-to-date health news, tips, recipes and all things food inspired.

You can watch an interview with me here (clicking will open the Essence Hove Facebook page).

I look forward to you joining me on our yoga journey and exploration into all things of culinary delight!
